Planning for the upcoming 2019 Race Season.

2018 continues to see the race team improve their results.

July 28 & 29, 2018
Castrol Double Dozen
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Saturday 7th Place
Sunday 2nd Place - First Podium Finish
ST Racing placed 7th on Saturday due to some mechanical concerns on the oil temperatures being recorded.

On Sunday we got everything to line up pretty well.   Brakes were still a major concern and the lap times reflected the tentative nature of all drivers.   However, we were able to close in on the goal of laying down 400 laps and a top five finish.  We missed the lap mark by 1, we went 399 laps, but we eclipsed the top 5 finish by grabbing a podium spot and placed 2nd.

Highlights include our first podium finish, along with a 4 second gap interval between all drivers.   Car is running exceptionally well now.   Team continues to go the distance on both days.

Fuel starvation issues continue to be a problem and limiting driver stints to 1.5 hours.

Racing Leagues

The following are various racing leagues that cater to endurance racing with stock type cars like ours.  Our prefered league is ChumpCar Canada, and the American counterpart ChampCar Endurance Series.   ChampCar was formerly known as ChumpCar.   These two have races all around North America.   ChumpCar Canada currently races at Calabogie, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and Castrol Raceway.   Two eastern tracks and one out west.

There are two more tracks coming online in Alberta, one 25 minutes north of Calgary and another one East North East of Calgary near Drumheller, AB.   The Calgary track is to come online in 2019, with potential racing dates in 2020.   Great news for Western Canada.

One track that is supposed to be hosting ChumpCar Canada is Area 27 in Oliver, BC.   Look to add this to our racing schedule for 2019.

ChumpCar Canada

ST Racing races here

ChumpCar Canada is a series of automotive endurance races held on premier road race courses across Canada. The races range in length from 6 to 24 hours.

ChumpCar's slogan is "Real Racing, Real Tracks, Real Cheap Cars", and its stated mission, is to be "It's all about racing. It's all about tearing down those high-dollar roadblocks that, in the past, have restricted people with a passion for cars and racing from getting fully engaged and involved in motorsports. It's about enjoyment, friends and bringing road racing back to where it was fifty years ago - when racing was fun, cheap and nobody cared whether you had Snap-On tools or a mix-match of hand-me-downs in your toolbox."

This is the racing league that ST Racing currently races in. It is run by Wendy and Sal and they do an outstanding job of creating a fun, exciting and truly amazing racing experience.

If you’ve ever wanted to race a car, get a team together, build your car and come on out. All the information you need to get going is located on their website. Read the rules and review the forums for tips and help.

We at ST Racing will be more than willing to help, answer questions and get you on the right track to start your team racing.

Lucky Dog Racing League

Friends of ST Racing races here

Lucky Dog Racing League is a “for racers, by racers” grassroots motorsports series that welcomes all levels of racecars and drivers. Our staff is like family and we’re big on you and your team being part of this racing community. It’s not always about who wins (OK, sometimes), but rather the special comradery that manifests itself when fellow competitors and their crew are the first to help repair your car, loan a tool, buy you a beer, give you their back-up parts car or help entertain the kids. At the end of the day, and at the end of the race...we’re all family bound by our need for speed and a passionate desire to race.

World Racing League - WRL

ST Racing is interested in racing here.

We believe that concise rules, sportsmanship, respect and comradery make for a great racing series. Each WRL event is designed to offer teams of drivers hours of cost-effective track time, going wheel-to-wheel with those who share their passion for clean, drama-free competition, real racing strategy and fun. WRL is defined by five simple ideas:

1.  Provide true, class-based endurance racing with the classes defined by power to weight ratio.
2.  Host competitive races with experienced drivers and properly prepared race cars
3.  Enforce a no-contact philosophy with a driver tracking/rating system to help promote clean racing.
4.  Remain open to most cars built for clubs and series across North America
5.  Keep racing fun and affordable for the vast majority of enthusiasts who are passionate about the sport
